12" high late 19th Century Neoclassical Revival brass candlesticks (circa 1890, English). Hand-chased (engraved) decoration around the stepeed bases-not cast decoration that was fashionable during the late Victorian period. Crisp beaded molding around the plinths. Elegant fluted columns reminiscent of classical columns. Separate removable candle cups which make it easier to clean wax residue. Lovely late Victorian production.
